The majority of your SalesLoft management will take place from the Team Settings. As a SalesLoft admin, you can access the Team Settings to change your team's name, manage invoices, invite new SalesLoft users, and configure your team’s SalesLoft account.
Your Team Settings can be accessed by clicking your name in the top right corner of the SalesLoft platform, and selecting Settings or Team (selecting Team will take you directly to the General Settings page, while Settings will take you to the Profile Settings page).
The General Settings page allows you to manage your team by editing its name and configuring team-wide Settings.
In this article, we will walk through General Settings, including:
- Global Opt-Out
- Edit Your Team Name
- Available Import Options
- Object Access
- Unsubscribe from SalesLoft's Weekly Summary Emails

Global Opt-Out
When an email recipient selects the opt-out link, they are marked as Do Not Contact in SalesLoft, cutting off potential future communication from Cadences, emails, or phone calls.
Users have the option of adding an opt-out link across a Cadence or they can add a link via dynamic field in specific templates.
However, if your email reputation is at risk, you may want to mandate the addition of the opt-out link in your team's emails. The global opt-out link lets you control whether or not your team’s emails will contain an opt-out link that allows recipients to unsubscribe from future emails. You can even decide whether you want the opt-out link visible in all emails sent via SalesLoft or only emails sent from Cadences.
Things to Note:
- If you do not see the global opt-out link setting in your General Settings, reach out to SalesLoft Support or your Success Manager so they can enable the feature.
- Clicking the global opt-out link will not register as a click.
To determine the opt-out link settings for your team, follow the instructions below:
- Under Team Settings, go to the General Settings page.
- Find the Global Opt-Out section.
- Use the dropdown menu to select the opt-out link setting. The opt-out link settings include:
- All Emails: The opt-out link will appear in all emails (one-off, Cadence, reply in-app, etc...)
- Cadence Emails: The opt-out link will appear in all Cadence emails by default.
- Disabled: The opt-out link will not automatically appear in emails. Users can add the opt-out link in their own Cadences or using the opt-out link dynamic field.
Things to Note: If the global opt-out link is enabled and a user removes the opt-out link from the email pane, it will be reinserted back into the emails upon sending.
End User Experience: Clicking the Global Opt-Out Link
The global opt-out link will include a text link that reads “Would you like to opt out?” at the bottom of the email they received.
What does an email recipient experience if they click on the global opt-out link?
When a recipient clicks on the opt-out link, a new browser will open. In the new window, they will see a prompt to complete the opt-out process. Once they click Confirm, they will opt out of future messages and a contact restriction will be added to the Person's record.
Edit Your Team Name
When your team's SalesLoft account is created, your company name becomes your SalesLoft Team Name (unless we are told otherwise). In other words, your Team Name is the name designated to your team's SalesLoft instance.
But if you are a part of a division of your business or your company changes their name (these things happen), you can update your team's name as an admin.
Follow the instructions below to change or edit your team name:
- Go to the General Settings page under your Team Settings.
- Your current name will be listed under Team Name.
- In the text box, type in the name you would like your team to go by.
- Select Update Name.
Available Import Options
SalesLoft users have the ability to import People from three available sources. Whenever they select Import People (from the People page), they will see all of their available importing options.
If you would like to select specific import options to be sure your users only import using a particular method, you can select/deselect your preferred import options. Follow these steps to set your available import options:
- Go to the General Settings page under your Team Settings.
- Scroll to Available Import Options.
- Only put a check next to your preferred import option(s). If the checkbox is selected, the import option will show.
Object Access
Object Access determines the level of access users have to Person and Account records. Admins can restrict access to Person and Account records only to the users who own them in SalesLoft, which puts in place all required levers to protect and separate data between SalesLoft users.
Admins can determine what records users on the team can access between the following options:
- All Records: users will be able to view all People/Accounts in SalesLoft.
- Owned by User: Users will only be able to view People/Accounts owned by them.
Things to Note:
- If the Access Setting for a Person record is set to Owned by User and a user is running a Cadence that includes a Person they are not the owner of, the user will not be able to run Cadence steps for this Person, even if they were previously assigned to them.
- Recommendation: Before enabling access restrictions for a Person record, grant users assigned to Cadence steps access to People they do not own (either they should own the record or have "View All People" permissions).
- SalesLoft will remove People from Cadences within a day if users running these cadences don’t own these People.
To change the Access Settings, follow these steps:
- Go to the General Settings page under your Team Settings.
- Scroll to the Access section.
- Click the dropdown menu for the Person Record.
- Select from the following options:
- All Records
- Owned by User
- A prompt will appear to confirm that you would like to Save the Access Settings. Read the prompt, and verify that you're sure. Click Save.
- Follow the same steps for the Account Record.
After the setting is changed to Owned by User, SalesLoft will process the update to apply to all users. Once SalesLoft has finished updating users' access to records, an admin will get an email notification that Object Access has been updated.
For users who need to have access to all records despite the Setting being set to Owned by User, set the Access Control permissions to override access for specific user roles.
