Connect SalesLoft with Your Salesforce

Before you can take advantage of SalesLoft's Salesforce integration, you must connect your Salesforce account to your SalesLoft account.

  • Step 1: Click the dropdown menu under your name and select "Settings." Then select "CRM."
  • Step 2: Select "Link to Salesforce." This will take you to your Salesforce log-in page. Log-in to connect your SalesLoft account to Salesforce.

Create Custom SalesLoft Fields for Mapping

Custom SalesLoft fields allow you to map over important information from Salesforce when importing. Custom fields can also be used as dynamic tags in your emails.

  • Step 1: Click the dropdown menu under your name, select "Settings" and select "Custom Fields."
  • Step 2: Type the preferred name of your new custom field and select "Add Custom Field."

Create Custom Salesforce Fields for Mapping

Custom Salesforce fields allow you to export custom SalesLoft fields to Salesforce.

  • Step 1: Go to Leads or Contacts "Fields" and click "New."
  • Step 2: Choose the type of field you want to create. Be sure it meets our technical requirements
  • Step 3: Enter a "Field Label" and select "Next." 
  • Step 4: Choose the page layouts that will display the field. It should be displayed on Contact and Lead page layouts. 
  • Step 5: Click "Save."

Set Import Field Mapping

Import field mapping allows you to select which Salesforce fields are imported into SalesLoft each time you or a team member completes an import. You can set import field mapping for leads and contacts.

  • Step 1: Click the dropdown menu under your name and select "Settings." Then select "CRM Fields."
  • Step 2: Select "Import Leads" to select the import field mapping for Salesforce leads. Select "Import Contacts" to select the import field mapping for Salesforce contacts.
  • Step 3: Select where your imported Salesforce field should map to in SalesLoft.
  • Step 4: Select the Salesforce you want to be imported and select "Add Mapping."
  • Step 5: Repeat this process for all of the Salesforce fields you want to be synced during imports.
  • NOTE: SalesLoft will automatically import first name, last name, company, title and email address, so you do not need to set these fields.

Set Export Field Mapping

Export field mapping allows you to automatically update contacts and leads in Salesforce when they are updated in SalesLoft. You must set export field mapping for contacts and leads separately.

  • Step 1: Click the dropdown menu under your name and select "Settings." Then select "CRM Fields."
  • Step 2: Select "Export Leads" to select the export field mapping for Salesforce leads. Select "Export Contacts" to select the export field mapping for Salesforce contacts.
  • Step 3: Select the SalesLoft field that, when updated, should trigger an update in Salesforce.
  • Step 4: Select the Salesforce you want to be updated when your Step 3 SalesLoft field is updated and select "Add Mapping."
  • Step 5: Repeat this process for all of the Salesforce fields you want to be updated when corresponding fields are updated in SalesLoft.
  • NOTE: SalesLoft will not automatically update any fields in Salesforce unless you set the export field mapping.

Sync Activity to Salesforce

Every time an email is sent in SalesLoft or by using the Loft It button, you can have fields automatically update in Salesforce.

  • Step 1: Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu under your name, then select "CRM Fields." Select "Activities" from the top toolbar.
  • Step 2: Under "Emails," select the Salesforce field you want to be updated whenever an email is sent.
  • Step 3: Set the value your Salesforce field should update to when an email is sent and select "Add Email Field."

Sync Call Activity to Salesforce

Like emails, you can have call activity be synced to Salesforce every time you log a call in the SalesLoft Platform.

  • Step 1: Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu under your name, then select "CRM Fields." Select "Activities" from the top toolbar.
  • Step 2: Under "Phone Calls," select the Salesforce field you want to be updated when a call is logged in SalesLoft.
  • Step 3: If you want the value for this field to be set when logging the call, leave the "Set this field when logging calls" box checked and select "Add Phone Field."
  • Step 4: If you want the value for this field to always be the same when a call is logged, uncheck the "Set this field when logging calls" box and set the value this field should update to. Then select "Add Phone Field."

Sync Open, Click & Reply Metrics and Call Duration to Salesforce

As you generate metrics and make calls, SalesLoft can automatically update your Salesforce with open, click and reply rates on emails and your calls' duration.

  • Step 1: Create a custom field in Salesforce following our technical requirements where the metric or call duration will map to.
  • Step 2: In SalesLoft, select the dropdown menu under your name, navigate to "Settings," select "CRM Fields," then select "Activities."
  • Step 3: Select the metric or call duration you want to map, then select your custom Salesforce field it should map to. Click "Add Mapping."
