The Create People Tab
The Create People tab allows you to complete the same People Actions from the general People page, for a specific Cadence.
The Create People actions include:
- Create Person: Manually create a Person in SalesLoft and add them to the Cadence.
- Import from CSV: Imports People from a CSV and adds the People to the Cadence. SalesLoft will suggest the Cadence you were viewing as the default when you select Finish Import and Add to Cadence.
- How to Import from Salesforce: Directs you to the Knowledge Base article for instructions to import People from Salesforce.
- Export People: Exports a CSV file of the People in the Cadence, along with their Cadence stats.
- View Import History
To access the Cadence-specific People Actions:
- Go into your Cadence.
- Navigate to the Cadence People tab.
- Select Create People in the upper right corner of the Cadence People listview.
- Choose the action you would like to take.
Filter with the Cadence People Sidebar
The Cadence sidebar filters People based on where they fall within the Cadence. What does this mean? The filtered view lets you see every Person who is on a step, whether their due date is in the future or today.
You will find the sidebar on the left side of the Cadence People tab. The Cadence People are divided into filters. Each filter is separated by the number of People in that section and the filter name. Click on any filter option to see a list of People that fit the segment. The sidebar is divided into the following filter categories:
- In Progress: Number of People currently in progress within the Cadence.
- Completed: People who have completed every step of the Cadence.
- Removed: People who have been removed from the Cadence. People can be removed manually or automatically.
- Thing to Note: A Cadence activity (Call step, Email step, Etc.) must be run on the Person record before they will appear under the Removed tab. If the Person is removed and no activity was run on the Cadence it will not show up here.
- All: Every single Person who has previously been or is currently in the Cadence.
- Day #: Step #: Breakdown of each day and step in the Cadence, along with the People who are currently on that step.
The Cadence People Listview
At the core of the Cadence People tab, you will find the Cadence People listview. The listview shows Person information, Cadence stats, and actions specific to that Cadence.
Need to move People to different steps in the Cadence? Want to remove People from the Cadence in bulk? Or maybe you are heading on vacation and need to put your Cadence on hold by assigning everyone a new due date. You can take all of these actions and more from the Cadence People listview!
Now, let’s break down the components of the Cadence People listview and walk through the actions you can take.

People Actions from a Cadence
People Actions allow you to perform activities related to an individually selected Person or multiple People. The actions appear at the top of the listview when you select the checkbox to the left of an individual Person or multiple People. Choose any of the following icons to complete the action:
- Cadence Actions: These specific tools allow you to take actions on selected People. Continue scrolling to learn more about each Cadence action.
- Send a one-off email: Compose a single email to the Person outside of the Cadence.
- Add to an Account: Links this Person to an Account in SalesLoft, similar to a Contact in Salesforce being connected to an Account.
- Tags: Manage, add, or remove tags for that Person.
- More actions
- Mark Do Not Contact: Adds this Person to the Do Not Contact list. Once a Person is marked as Do Not Contact, SalesLoft users will not be able to email, call, or add the Person to a Cadence.
- Delete: Delete the Person from the Cadence.
- Mark EU Resident: Marking someone as an EU Resident disables open tracking, click tracking, and Live Website Tracking for GDPR compliance.
- Unmark EU Resident: Removes the EU Resident label from users who have previously been marked as an EU Resident.
Add to a Cadence
Assign this Person (or selected People) to a Cadence. Most common use here is to re-add someone to the current Cadence.
Things to Note: When adding someone who is on another Cadence, live or archived, you will be prompted that the Person is on other Cadences. Contacts can not be added to Cadences they are active on.
Follow these instructions to re-add someone to a Cadence:
- Go to the Completed sidebar filter.
- Select the Person or People you want to move.
- Click the Cadence Actions icon.
- From the Cadence Actions dropdown, select Add to Cadence.
- Select from My Cadences or Team Cadences. You may also add the Person to a specific Cadence step.
- Once you pick the correct Cadence, click Add to Cadence.
Change Due Date
Your Cadence is designed to run steps on the designated day. But sometimes, you may need to delay your Cadence. For example, let’s say you are out of office (OOO), but still have People working through the Cadence. Rather than falling behind in your process, set a new due date for the People so you can put those actions on hold until you are ready to complete them.
To change the due date on People from the Cadence People tab, follow these steps:
- Access the Cadence you need to move People on and select the People tab of the Cadence.
- Filter and sort your People list (if necessary).
- Select specific People or all the People you want to move.
- Click on Cadence Actions (rocket ship icon).
- From the Cadence Actions dropdown, select Change Due Date.
- A calendar will pop up. Choose a date for the Person to resume the Cadence.
- Click Update Status.
Move People to a New Step
Moving People to a new step is very similar to skipping a step, but with a little more control. Say you take over a coworker's Lead assignments who have already been communicated with. Once you add them to your Cadence, they don't need to run through steps 1-5, so you can collectively move the People to step 6.
To move People to a new Cadence step, follow these instructions:
- Access the Cadence you need to move People on and select the People tab of the Cadence.
- Filter and sort your People list (if necessary).
- Select specific People or all the People you want to move.
- Click on Cadence Actions (rocket ship icon).
- From the Cadence Actions dropdown, select Move to Step.
- The Move to Step popup window will appear. From the dropdown, select where you would like the move the People.
- Click Move.
Skip a Cadence Step
If your upcoming Cadence Action has already been completed outside of SalesLoft, you can skip the Person to the next step in your Cadence. A common example of this is when someone is added to a new Cadence where the first step is an intro call, but you have already spoken with that Person on the phone and want to skip them onto step 2.
To skip a Person on a step:
- Access the Cadence you need to move People on and select the People tab of the Cadence.
- Filter and sort your People list (if necessary).
- Select specific People or all the People you want to move.
- Click on Cadence Actions (rocket ship icon).
- From the Cadence Actions dropdown, select Skip this Step.
- The Person’s name on the Cadence list will fade away and a popup notification will appear to inform you the step has been skipped.
Remove People from this Cadence
If a Person or group of People do not need to be on the particular Cadence any longer, you can remove them. To remove People from a Cadence in bulk, follow these steps:
- Access the Cadence you need to remove People from and select the People tab of the Cadence.
- Filter and sort your People list (if necessary).
- Select specific People or all the People you want to move.
- Click on Cadence Actions (rocket ship icon).
- From the Cadence Actions dropdown, select the red Remove from this Cadence action.
- A popup module will appear to confirm you would like to remove this Person (People) from the Cadence. Click Remove from Cadence.
- The Person’s name on the Cadence list will be removed and a popup notification will appear to inform you the Person has been taken off the Cadence.
