Your Dashboards act as the motherboard of data within Deals. The Dashboard will determine the data that builds your Pipeline and Deal Views. Dashboards can be created for a variety of Salesforce records.
The Pipeline Dashboard tabulates all of your Deals. It's highly customizable and offers a variety of insights that paint a clear picture into how your sales are progressing (or not progressing).
To access the Pipeline Dashboard, go to the Deals product tab in the top navigation. By default, you will be directed to the Pipeline tab. The Dashboards are available under the Pipeline tab.
In this article, you will learn the components of the Pipeline Dashboard and how to manage it, including:
- Personal Dashboards
- Add a New Dashboard
- Dashboard Actions
- Opportunity Dashboard Filters
- Manage Opportunity Dashboard Columns
- Deal List
Personal Dashboards
In the top left corner of each Dashboard, you will see an icon followed by the name, or title, of the Dashboard. The icon signifies the Salesforce record type the Dashboard is pulling data from.
For the Pipeline Dashboard, the title will be preceded by a crown icon.
By clicking the title of the Dashboard you can view all of the other Dashboards that are accessible to you. These may include Dashboards you have previously created and saved or Dashboards created by a team member and shared with you.
Add a New Dashboard
At first glance, Dashboards offer a lot of information, which may be overwhelming. If you only need to see a fraction of the data visible to you, you can add a new Dashboard and use filters to customize your data.
To add a new Dashboard, follow these steps:
- From the Pipeline Dashboard, find the name of the Dashboard and click the down arrow to the right of the name. This will open the Personal Dashboards menu.
- Select Add New Dashboard at the bottom of the menu. The menu will expand.
- Enter a Dashboard Title.
- Pick a Record Type from the following options:
- Opportunity
- Account
- Contact
- Lead
- (Optional) Share the Dashboard you are creating with a team member or everyone on your team.
- Click Add New Dashboard to save the Dashboard you created. Once the Dashboard has been added, it will appear in your Personal Dashboard menu.
- Things to Note: You cannot create a Dashboard until the title and record type have been added.
Dashboard Actions
Each Dashboard offers actions that add to or provide additional management of the Dashboard. To access these actions, select the three vertical dots to the left of the Dashboard title.
Things to Note: You may also open the Dashboard Actions menu from the Personal Dashboard and edit any of the visible Dashboards.
See the instructions below for a walkthrough of each Dashboard Action.
Rename
To edit the title of a Dashboard, follow these steps:
- Select the three vertical dots to the right of the Dashboard Title. The Dashboard Actions menu will appear.
- Click Rename. This will open the Dashboard Settings within the Personal Dashboard menu.
- In the Title line, edit the name.
- Click Save Dashboard Settings. The Dashboard will refresh with the new title.
Edit Sharing
If you have created a Dashboard that may benefit one of more of your team members, you can edit the Sharing Settings to share the Dashboard with that user.
Things to Note: Team members are based on Salesforce users associated with your team's Salesforce instance.
To edit the Sharing Settings of a Dashboard, follow these steps:
- Select the three vertical dots to the right of the Dashboard Title. The Dashboard Actions menu will appear.
- Click Edit Sharing. This will open the Personal Dashboard menu to the Share with Team Setting.
- Enter a team member's name or click Everyone to share with your whole team.
- Click Save Dashboard Settings. An icon signifying that the Dashboard has been shared will appear to the right of the Dashboard title.
Duplicate
If you would like to copy an existing Dashboard (like a Team Dashboard), so you can use it as the foundation of a Personal Dashboard, you may copy the Dashboard to your Personal Dashboards by duplicating it.
To duplicate a Dashboard, follow these steps:
- Select the three vertical dots to the right of the Dashboard Title. The Dashboard Actions menu will appear.
- Click Duplicate. This will open the Personal Dashboard edit options.
- In the Dashboard Title, the existing name of the Dashboard will be entered followed by "(Copy)". In the Title line, edit the name if you wish.
- Click Add New Dashboard. The Dashboard will be added to your Personal Dashboards list.
Delete
To remove a Dashboard entirely, delete it by following these steps:
- Select the three vertical dots to the right of the Dashboard Title. The Dashboard Actions menu will appear.
- Click Delete. A message will pop up to confirm you wish to delete.
- Click Yes, Continue to delete the Dashboard. Or click Cancel if you change your mind.
- Once deleted, the Dashboard will be removed from your Personal Dashboards.
Pipeline Dashboard Filters
Pipeline Dashboard filters allow you to drill down the list of Deals you are viewing based off of certain criteria. The filters are broken down into the following categories:
- Owners
- Stages
- Close Date
- Gaps
- Advanced Filters
To learn more about the filter options, check out our Pipeline Dashboard Filters Knowledge Base article.
Manage Pipeline Dashboard Columns
The columns within the Pipeline View are completely customizable. You can add, remove, edit, and adjust the location of columns within the Pipeline table.
If you want to add or remove columns from your Pipeline View, you can do that from the top of your Pipeline Dashboard. You will find the column manager after the standard and advanced filters.
When you click the three-column icon, the Manage Columns window will appear. From the Manage Columns window, you can perform the following:
- Filter to find a field
- SalesLoft Feature Fields: These are the default fields that SalesLoft provides.
- Deal Gaps
- To-Dos
- Opportunity Fields: The complete list of Opportunity fields pulled from your Salesforce instance. Each field can be used as a column.
After your columns are set, click Done to reset the columns.
Once the columns are in place, you can click to edit information. This could be rich text, amounts, or dates.
Deal List
The first column of the Pipeline View is the Deal List. The Deal List shows the Opportunities (based on your set filters).
The Deal List is static from the Pipeline View and the Deal View, so you can always reference and view the entire list.
Each Deal panel shows a brief glimpse of information, including:
- Deal Search
- Opportunity Name
- Age of the Opportunity
- Opportunity Owner
- Account Name
At the bottom of the page, the last line gives the total number of Deals listed.
